Капсулното изследване е щадящо и прецизно. Не изисква анестезия или седация, както при конвенционалната ендоскопия. Напълно безболезнено и безопасно е. След края на процедурата капсулата се изхвърля по естествен път.
Съществуват два вида ОМОМ HD капсули – с една камера само за тънки черва и с две камери за тънко и дебело черво. Първата е със зрително поле 180 градуса, а втората - 360 градуса.
Тънкочревната капсула позволява оглед на цялото тънко черво, включително зони, които са труднодостъпни за традиционните методи. Поради това този тип капсулна ендоскопия е най-точният начин и стандарт за диагностика на тънките черва – оценка и проследяване на уврежданията им и откриване на неизяснен източник на кървене. Капсулната ендоскопия за дебело черво е подходяща алтернатива за пациенти, които имат страх от класическата процедура и риск от анестезия.
Капсулната ендоскопия се предлага амбулаторно в ДКЦ-2 срещу заплащане по ценоразписа на лечебното заведение. Тя се извършва и на пациенти в УМБАЛ МЕДИКА РУСЕ без доплащане от тяхната страна.
